Rest Finally....

What a busy week!
Finally getting a chance to relax at home.

I've been on the go since Tuesday. Dentist appointment, parent conference, Valentine's Day, School party, Marriage Retreat.

Alot to pack into a week. Guess I have gotten spoiled with my laid back schedule.

This week looks busy too. Another dentist appointment, need to get my taxes filed, bills to pay, errands to run.

We went to a marriage retreat with our church. It was a blast. It was held in Kerrville. Now thats hill country. Beautiful drive out there. Wish we werent in such a rush to get there. It would have been nice to do a little more sight seeing.

Dondy had to work late on Friday, so we didnt leave as early as planned. Bummer. We made it there safely so I *guess* thats all that matters. I'm such a stickler for plans. I want things to go JUST as I imagined.. and if they dont. I get pissy. I've been working on that. I am so not the spontaneous type. I'm a control freak and I let it control my mood alot of the time. Talk about a buzzkill. Anyway.. I had the victory and I just accepted the fact that we were late and continued on.

When we (finally) got there, it was 7:00 P.M. on the dot-- the time the dinner started.... and we werent dressed yet. So we hurried up to our room, scrambled to get ready and made our way downstairs to the restraunt. The hotel was very nice. We lucked out and got a very nice Loft Suite. Yay! I'm so glad we didnt have to drive to another location for the dinner and seminar. It was chilly and I didnt bring my coat.

Dinner was nice, but there were lots of interruptions. So I didnt get to pig out as usual. hahahaha My motto is eat first. Talk later. hahahaha I'm not very social. Kinda funny how I ended up at a church with fellowship in its name. hehehehe.

to be continued.. its a beautiful day and its a shame to waste it indoors.. off to take the kids to the park. more later.

One year already?

Dh and I just celebrated our first anniversary. February 3, 2008
He took me to the coast. Corpus Christi- the same place we went on our mini-honeymoon last year. So this city will always be special to us... well to me anyway. :P

We hadn't really planned much. I was expecting dinner to Olive Garden out of the deal though. Gotta love their Stuffed Chicken Marsala.

Anyhoo.. he asked my mom to keep the kids.. last minute. and she agreed! WOOOO!
So I packed our overnight bags, dropped the kids off at my mom's and headed south.

Dh isn't the take lead type. He always goes with what I want. I'm usually the plan maker. It was sooooooooo nice to just sit back and enjoy the getaway. I'm not the spontaneous type. I like to book hotels on line, print out google maps.. blah blah blah. Not this time! I just got in the truck with my suitcase and was ready for whatever came up.

The ride down was so peaceful. I love road trips. Dh was especially sweet. Grabbing my hand and kissing it every once in a while. Ahhhhhhhhhh that melts my heart. I love my husband.

We got to Corpus around 3ish. Got a room at Red Roof.Relaxed for a bit before heading out for dinner. We watched AFV for a while. I love that show. SO old school and cheesy, but seriously, its the only show that will make me laugh out loud.

We got freshened up and went to find our favorite mexican restaurant Kiko's. There was a 45 minute wait, but that was fine with me. Being from Texas, and being Mexican myself, this is the best mexican food around. Trust me. After 45 minutes of people watching, we got our table for two. (what? no kids?) We pigged out on queso & chips and Enchiladas.. Tasty travels!

Back to the room to change. We're going fishing. We put on our jeans and hoodies. Grabbed our chairs/fishing gear and headed to the pier. We had to stop for fresh shrimp. Ew! I usually dont go fishing with dh so I expected us to buy worms. hehehehe. It was around 65 degrees and foggy by this time. We fished for a few hours. Not my idea of fun, but hey, whatever keeps the fire burning. It was fun just hanging out and being ourselves, not parents. We packed up around midnight and took a cruise downtown to check out the nightlife. Then we stopped at one of the T- Heads to walk around. We came across this really neat boat. It was a replica of the Nina. I cant believe that those pilgrims were brave enough to get in a boat like that and brave the seas!!!

Sleeping in was so nice. I'm glad we got a double. I must use 2 pillows at night. Taking a long hot shower in the morning was nice too. No rush, no kids to worry about. Hotel towels are the best too. So thirsty. :P

We checked out and went to breakfast.

We wanted to take a bay curise on the Flagship, but there were not enough passengers. It requires at least 30 to get underway. So that was out.

We went to Treasure Island to play mini- golf! My favorite! Yay! I felt like a kid walking in there. It was so much fun. 18 holes, but neither of us made a hole in one. I felt so guilty playing without the kids. I must have told Dh a hundred times that I wished the kids were with us. We're definately taking them this Summer. I think we had the most fun playing mini-golf.

We were being silly, egging each other on. Dh even made the kissing sound when our golf balls would touch. hahahaha. good times.

We did a little bit is shopping after that. Didnt want to show up empty handed when we picked up the kids. We stopped at a trade center-- kinda like an indoor flea market. I got me some Dolce and Gabana knock off sunglasses. Yeah, I'm ghetto fabulous. :P

By this time, it was time to head home.

We did a lot in 24 hours. It was a really fun and romantic trip. My honey is so good to me. It really meant alot that he wanted to take me somewhere special- just the two of us.

February <3

I heart February.
Its my Anniversary month and Valentine's day. Its all about love.
God wasnt kidding when he told us ... and the greatest of these is love.
So these three things remain: faith, hope, and love. But the best one of these is love. 1 Corinthians 13:13

Actually, Valentine's Day is one of my all time favorite things. I'm really into cute things, and during this time of year.. there is plenty to ooooo and awww about.

The kids and I made the cutest (there I go with that word again. I admit= I abuse it) Valentine's cupcakes. Ladybug- another obsession on mine. Usually, when the kids and I bake and decorate cupcakes, they lose interest after decorating a couple. Which is just fine and dandy for me. I get to decorate most of them. nya-nya-nya! Well, not this time. They had extra fun doing these and participated from start to finish. Very easy and kid friendly.

Well it looks like this thread is turning into a my favorite things episode. There are no rules on blogs. I can rant and rave all about myself right?

This post is useless without pics.. let me go find my camera.. I'm out of memory anyway. I have about 500 pics on it. Which I am thrilled about. My Cybershot media would only hold a measly 60 at 5MP.. Boooo! hahaha

ok. brb..update.. camera dead.. and its late. pictures for sure manana!

Rainy Day? Check! Monday? Check!

Yep, they got me down.
Today was blah. Its gonna be a witchfest, so this is your warning. Click out now.

I'm still trying to get rid of this cold. I'm a HUGE baby when I'm sick. I admit. I rarely get sick, but when I do.. watch out.

On top of all of that, I have tooth pain. In 2 places.. huh? All of a sudden. I flossed my teeth to death while I watched the HGTV Dream Home tour. A few pieces of cracked peppercorn came out. Funny because I have been eating the finely ground variety lately. No tellin how long that sucker was in there. Ew. So now I only have one sensitive tooth. Give me a break. I've always been able to bite into anything cold with no problem. Why now? I cant even drink anything cold without my fang tripping out. I drank with my head tilted so it wouldnt get on my tooth. What a dork! hahahahaha so anyway... Not fun. I hope it goes away soon.

Its almost midnight here and I still have chicken salad to make. My very dear husband brought home celery, eggs and chicken and asked me how to make chicken salad. Hint hint. I cant be that mean. I opened my big mouth and told him I would make it. *rolls*eyes* I told him I will not take credit for it though. He requested only egg whites and fat free MIRACLE WHIP!!! Gross! I dont even get the satisfaction of a midnight snack. I cant stand Miracle whip.. and I'm not about to make 2 batches. Suffer baby. <--- talking to myself.

Oh.... what else.. Oh yeah. Mallory was running a fever today. 101.2 this am and 99.something this afternoon. She wasnt really acting sick this evening, so hopefully it will just pass.

JP is on a kitty kick. Thanks to me. I bought a game called Purrpals a few weeks ago. Its a nintendo ds game where you feed, groom, play with your kitten.

Well he decided he wants a real one. He even wrote down a list of things he will need.. you know the "baskit" and "cayg". He is sooooo "strong willed" that he will not take correction on misspelled words. He insisted that I was wrong because he sounded them out! I told him I would consider getting him one for his birthday. I would much rather have a cat than a dog. Dogs disgust me to be honest. They really do.

I will have to do a weekend wrap up tomorrow. I really dont feel like talking about anything positive right now. hahahaa... which is a point I have been meaning to bring up. I dont want my readers to get the false impression that things are always happy go lucky in my life. They are not. I have my downs but I choose not to share them most of the time. Got it? Good. :)

Weekend Wrap Up

Lets see.. what did we do this weekend?

Friday night I had to watch Jeremy. The kids and I headed over there and Dh came to visit us later on in the evening. I think its sweet that he wanted to spend the evening with us even though I was babysitting. I love my husband. He even brought Dinner. We shared a Plain Jane from Jason's Deli and the kids had Wendy's nuggets.

Saturday we went to San Antonio. Dh got us tickets to Monster Jam 08.

I wasnt really looking forward to it. Monster Trucks aren't my thing and we've been several times already. I even considered giving up my ticket. hahahah.. Glad I went. We had a WONDERFUL time. I dont remember it being so much fun before! By the end of the night, *I* was waving Mallory's Grave Digger flag, cheering him on. JP was in heaven. He kept saying, "wicked awesome!".... Since we had online tickets, the pit pass was included.

We got to see the trucks up close and personal. That was fun too.. but next time I'll dress Mallory in jeans and sneaks! It didnt occur to me that we would be walking in turf. DOH! Lots of fun. I definitely want to go next year. Maybe its the age of our kids thats makes it so fun. :)

Sunday.. Church. Then home. We spent way too much money at MJ08, so we didnt go out to eat after services like we usually do. Dh grilled up some steaks and we relaxed at home. The kids and I put together the Rose Petal Cottage. Cute playhouse! Got a super duper deal on it. 20 bucks! Thats a steal. I'm very proud of my clearance find, thank you very much.

Happy Holidays.. a little late!

Ok.. I haven't posted since Oct.
So Happy Halloween, Thanksgiving, Christmas and New Year. hahahaha

Things are back to normal after the holidays. I like the holidays better. I had my little Johnny home with me. It was hard giving him up.

Things are good. Everyone is happy and healthy.

New year, new hopes and dreams. 2007 was very good to us, so we are looking forward to an even better year oh eight.

Dh has been working his tail off lately. Dont know why, but I feel a little guilty. Should I? I do my best to take care of the kids and this household-- but I feel like I get to have all the "fun". Maybe its because we are coming off the holidays. ??? Anyway, I'll pray for guidance in that area. I dont like feeling this way.

I just celebrated my 34th birthday. Wow! 34. I remember when I was a kid 34 seemed old.The "OHH" reaction from people when I tell people how old I turned doesnt help either. hahahahaha.. I wont let it get me down. I am exactly where I want to be in my life.

I finally took down the outdoor Christmas lights. Yes, I'm that neighbor. *blush* I did it while dh was at work. I bet I looked funny fishing the lights off the tree with my broomstick.. and in my house shoes. (hey they're cute.. valentine ones, with an outdoor sole) I didnt want to give up my cute little gingerbread table runner. I asked Dh if it looked too Chirtsmassy. hahahaha. You know the answer. I'm whippin that baby out Nov 1 2008....so in 10 months.hahahaha that cute. ;)

what else? .... oh, the kids got really fun toys this year. We organized everything nice and neat so we know what we have, and we have done a good job keeping it that way. Yay us!

Gotta go put dh to sleep. wink*wink*

Talk to you soon.

Love devine..joy unspeakable..Overflowing in my soul
This heart of mine is refreshed and at rest
In your presence...in your presence

October

October is going well.

We have a nice schedule/routine going for JP. He loves Kinder and is very into learning how to spell right now. Every other question is how do you spell __________? Sound it out sweetie! ;) We went to a Parent Teacher conference last week and got a very good report. I am so proud of my Johnny Boy. His behavior has been excellent, he is eager to learn, and is a very good student. I feel so lucky to be his mommy. Since I stay home now, I get to do everything with so much more tender loving care. That has been my greatest reward. When he brings school work home, it has " I <3 U Mom" written all over it. That MELTS my heart. I think its amazing how love grows.

This Saturday is the last flag football game. I wish the season was longer. The team has come a long way. Its the rowdiest bunch yet, but the funnest yet. JP got a flag on Saturday because apparently using the "stiff arm" in flag is a no-no. Hahahahahahhaha. He was so proud of that move, and to be honest, so were we.

We will be moving on to Soccer next. We've never done soccer, so this will be his first season. We want to keep him active, plus we live for this stuff. Practices, games.. it so much fun!

Mallory is doing good. She is in her own little world. She loves coloring, mega blocks, painting and dressing up. She is all skirts and headbands these days. I cant do her hair anymore, she refuses. I miss the cute little girl hairdos and bows. Yesterday at Target, she saw this little girl with a skirt and boots and wanted to follow her. She kept saying, I want to wear that mommy! Pointing to the little girl. :P

We're getting ready for Halloween. I bought a couple of kids baking kits yesterday. Mini cakes and cookies with decorating kits. Really cute! Cant wait to make them with the kids. The dollar spot had rolling pins, so I got 2 of those. I also want to make Owl cupcakes I saw on the land o lakes website. To die for! I'll post a link so you can see them.

Johnny and I are in such a great place right now. I feel so lucky to be married to him. Since we have been going to church, our marriage has really strengthened. I could go into detail, but I would just be bragging then. ;)

I'm still having a hard time with a cleaning schedule. I'm so random. Some days I'll clean clean clean, some days I lounge lounge lounge and some days I play play play. I just do what I want and not what I SHOULD be doing. I've tried lists, that doesnt work. The company thing works really good. If I invite people over, I start cleaning like a mad woman. hahahaha Anyone want to come vist so I can get my behind in gear?

Mornings.. it goes a litte something like this:

6:15 I wake up and get JP's clothes, backpack, shoes, etc. I get dressed and washed up, but just to look decent enough to walk him to the bus stop.
6:25 Time to go wake up schoolboy by rubbing his back and saying "its time to get up baby"
6:35 my phone alarm goes off and he knows its time to get dressed
6:40 wash up/brush teeth, his not mine.
6:45 walk to bus stop
6:55 my baby is off

7:00 should I go back to sleep or make time for prayer like a good little Christian?Seriously, thats my battle every morning. I love sleep, but thats no way to waste the morning. Plus if I dont make time for prayer, my day is so off! 70% of the time I stay up and the other days I sleep until Mallory wakes up. 9ish. (so 30% of my days are off, you caught that right?) I'm trying to be a morning person. I feel so guilty if I sleep in. Thats excessive and only losers sleep that long, right? hahahahahaha I dont want to be a loser. Keeping this household in order is a fulltime job and I know it.

Panthers

JP started Flag Football this week.

Practice is on Tuesdays at 5:30. First game is on the 15th.

So exciting!

Never thought I would thank Playstation for anything, but his football video game has *really* helped him! He was busting out moves I didnt even know he knew! He even has names for them. LOL! (let me call him over and ask him the names of them, hold on)

Juke, spin, stiff arm are the moves.. Hahaha! I was impressed. Too funny. My Johnny boys been holding out on me. :P

Dh helped coach, although he isn't an official coach. Its so good to see them bond like that. What a blessing. <3

Where are the Panther's from anyway? and what color are their uniforms? I like to dress Mallory and myself accordingly. Hmmm.. guess I'll find out next Tues when they hand out team shirts.

I think football is my favorite sport that JP plays. Looking forward to it.

Oh and sorry no pics. I forgot my camera. Next week! I promise. :)
